Mission The mission of The Thermogram Center is to empower clients and their health providers with thermobiological information on (breast) health to make more informed decisions about the need for further evaluation and/or intervention efforts. The Thermogram Center strives to provide the highest level of quality and service possible with:
The Thermogram Center attempts to empower clients with knowledge and choice by:
Commitment to Quality Reliable services require certified personnel, experience, strict protocols, and meticulous image acquisition. The Thermogram Center is dedicated to providing clients and their health providers with the highest level of quality and service possible. To achieve this, a high resolution digital infrared camera and dynamic computer thermal imaging is used to provide imaging, thermobiological risk assessment, and monitoring services. The Thermogram Center equipment and software is FDA approved for breast imaging under FDA 21 CFR 884.2980: K033967 and K032471, respectively. The FLIR camera equipment is some of the latest in the field with sensitivity/resolution capabilities unlike older equipment. This camera maps 76,000+ temperature readings to 0.06°C sensitivity and 1.3mrad spatial resolution, so it is less likely to "miss something" not seen by older technologies, and the software provides you images in B&W and in color. FLIR cameras were featured on NBC's May 2, 2003 Today Show for their use at international airports in screening arriving passengers for fevers, enabling preliminary screening for SARS. Our technology and services have also been featured on Fox News for advanced technology and medical application. Multiple board certifications are a means of assuring quality control and reliability in thermography. Also, the Colorado-licensed physician overseeing The Thermogram Center and professional legal advice assure compliance with medical standards and laws. The interpretive doctor and imaging technician providing services to The Thermogram Center have been trained and certified by more than one of the following thermographic organizations:
(When seeking U.S. thermal imaging services, it is important to determine the provider's certifying entity. Be sure they have been certified by at least one of the above four entities or the American Medical Infrared Academy (AMIA). Some providers operate without the support of any of these organizations. Please be informed and choose carefully.) Service Providers to The Thermogram Center The Thermogram Center was conceived by Tirza Derflinger in 2002. She had previously served as Medical Laboratory Technician in the Army, obtained a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, and an M.B.A. in the Management of Technology. After working professionally for over 15 years, she had become dissatisfied... corporate work had become too impersonal and was no longer soulfully gratifying. At age 38, she left a six-figure income to return to her true calling: helping people in a health field. She founded the Thermogram Center as an S-Corp and is currently the only officer/individual in this business entity. Qualified only to serve as a thermographic technician and acquire images, she is not able to deliver on her vision and Mission for The Thermogram Center alone. Also, she must comply with the medical and business standards and laws that regulate her endeavors. So, multiple individuals and entities are involved, and the credentials for the primary service providers are listed below:
In the state of Colorado, the interpretation of tests is considered an activity within medicine. As such, a Colorado-licensed physician is required by law to monitor the activities of the below service providers within the context of their Thermogram Center work to ensure compliance to applicable medical laws and standards. Our Colorado-licensed Monitoring Physician: Nita Desai, MD
Thermograms are 100% digital and can be electronically mailed with an individual's health history information for analyses. The Thermogram Center obtains analyses and interpretive reporting through a California-based Certified Clinical Thermologist with over 15 years experience. He is currently interpreting for over 20 thermal imaging providers across the U.S.: Robert L. Kane, DC, DABCT, DIACT (B), FIACT of Kane Interpretive Services Board Certified Clinical Thermologist Board Member and Diplomate, American Board of Clinical Thermography Diplomate, International Academy of Clinical Thermology Member - American Academy of Medical Infrared Imaging Member - International Academy of Clinical Thermology Member - International Thermographic Society
Our Certified Clinical Thermographic Technician was a Medical Laboratory Specialist in the U.S. Army. She became board certified in 2003 as a thermographic technician after: attending 36 classroom hours covering physics, thermal imaging system requirements, anatomy, and client, paperwork, and laboratory protocols; passing a board exam through the International Academy of Clinical Thermology; obtaining 100 thermal imaging studies; submitting 10 thermal imaging studies for evaluation by the board; and attaining 6 months experience. She is also a member of the American Academy of Thermology. She is President of The Thermogram Center, performing as its technician and business manager, and Founder of The Breast Health Education Group, the authors/publishers of the book, "Better Breast Health - for Life!"
